New here to this forum. Just bought a 02 GP 4 door. Have had some issues with her but I have been a wrench for 24 years so I am slowly learning the ins and outs of this ride. I had the wonderful 1811 come up right after I bought the unit. It has 135,000 on her. Somebody just basically drove it and didn't do any up keep. I flushed the trans., put in a shift kit and trans cooler. I switched over to dexron VI and have not had any problems since. Did a complete tune-up and she runs good. I also ran into the key not turning back all the way. I just carry a small screwdriver in the console and use it to depress the cylinder release when necessary. Not a big deal after you learn the secret, but to those who don't know what the heck is going on, it can be very frustrating.
I have a question for the pontiac enthusiasts. The lot I bought my car from scraped all the adhesive off after they removed the window tint thus destroying my antenna and rear window defogger. Is the back glass the same on 2 and 4 door models? I found a good back glass close to home but it came out of a 2 door. Thanks for your help.
