New more affordable Basix line of transmission rebuilds!

Trannyman95

Transmission Expert
For a long time we have been thinking about offereing something as a more basic rebuild to our rebuild option lineup and more along the lines of what we started doing 10 years ago when we got heavy into the 4T65E market. The economy has been poor and the lots of customers opt to go the used route because it is cheaper. Nobody wants to drop $2,000 on a transmission rebuild unless they have already planned on going with a performance upgrade and understand it is necessary for modified vehicles. Used transmissions are a coin toss and if you are paying a shop for install because you cannot do it yourself then you can get burned pretty fast and pay for install several times to get a mediocre working transmission.

This is where our new Basix series comes into play. No core fees. No return shipping hassle. Just one much more affordable price to get one of our great transmissions and get your car back on the road. These are meant for stock and unmodified vehicles and still a vast improvement over a stock transmission. They will work fine in mildly modified vehicles as well such as a bolt-on M90 build.

Best part of all?

1997-2002 4T65E models shipped to most US business areas just $1374.95!
2003-2008 models are $1474.95!

That is TOTAL cost guys and gals, no core fee and no return shipping, one price.

Exciting. Um, could you maybe make an example of a bolt-on M90 build that you mentioned? I suppose we could sorta guess based on how long stock transmissions survive with some modifications, but I hoped you might clarify the language for us. It would be a shame to get warranty work turned away because your definition of differed from the customer.

This is a great value for the average non-perfomance guy. How much extra to remove/install in the car? Any credit if you can keep the old core out of the car? Assuming it's rebuildable.

SlowNA06- To answer your question on what would be covered keep in mind this is meant to be a stock replacement transmission, not a performance upgrade though it will definately be better than a stock transmissions' overall performance and shift quality. If you need something for an upgraded car this is not the best option to go with, this is for those that need to get their car back on the road and save some $$ over our Standard and High Performance models. As far as a mild upgraded M90 car I am referring to a basic 3.4 pulley/tune/downpipe/airbox car. I would say the Basix build will work well into the mid 13 second range and beyond, but again this is not meant to be a performance upgrade and our High Performance model is the way to go if your intentions are adding upgrades. We have no control over bad tunes or bad driving habits. and even a 15 second car can destroy a transmission if mistreated.

For installations it depends on the model. For a 97-03 Grand Prix $500 plus fluids. 04+ V6 Grand Prix $550 plus fluids. Most other 04 and earlier Wbodies are $500 plus fluids.

Core wise it depends if you are looking at our Basix model or High Performance model. Basix the core is included in the price of the trans, our Standard and High Perf models are not and the core is respected higher as we charge a core fee. Buying back a core from a Basix trans rebuild sale would be a lower number than what our standard core cost is and greatly depends on year/make/model.
