• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hello fellow Pontiac owners/enthusiasts. I'm having a bit of an issue. This is going to sound strange but, starting today, every time I put my 97 Grand Prix in park, the trunk opens. I left this morning to go to the store, and the remote keyless entry wouldn't work. It has happened before, so I thought it would just need to be reset. I decided to go to the store and do it when I got home. Well, I got to the store and parked the car. As soon as I put it in park, the trunk latch popped. Needless to say, I was rather surprised.

I closed it and went about my business. I had several other places to go, and each time I put the car in park, the trunk latch would pop. Also, the trunk release button in the glove box doesn't work. I got home and tried to reset the fob. It wouldn't re-program, I'm guessing because my car keeps thinking the trunk is open, though it isn't. HELP!! I have no idea why it's doing what it's doing and I don't know how to fix it. I'm considering disconnecting the battery to reset the car's computer, but not sure if that will help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to me expect was on my Jetta. The keyless remote was bad. I took it to autozone and they got that little display that shows if your remote is transmitting. It was constantly trying to open my trunk
