Hey Guys! (read about me below- IF YOU CARE!)

So I have decided I want a 2004-2007 Grand Prix with supercharger.

Which from what I have seen they are exclusivley badged as GTPs for the 2004 and 2005 years ?

2006 and 2007 were no longer called GTPs ?

2006 and 2007 I no longer see the Heads up display option ?

All years 2004-2007 use the genV m90 ? Is there any variations of this?

2004 has 255hp ? 2005-2007 have 260hp ? Is this true and why?

ALSO 2004 and 2005 require premium gas and the 06/07s do not ?

Remote start:
2004 was not a factory installed option
OPTIONAL FOR 2005
STANDARD 2006 - 2007 ?

What upgrades does GTP have over a GT in the 2004 and 2005 years? (besides the blower) Are the GTP exclusive features from 04/05 models available in the 06/07s?

Any other info or where to find info would be great!

Thx

AJ

OK long story short... I 've been around Pontiac Grand Ams and Grand Prixs for MANY years - After owning a few I had a 2002 Mustang GT then a 2004 Mach 1 - Now I have a 07 G6 (leased) I will be giving it back in a few months and want to buy a car this time. I have a 8 month old and 1 on the way :)

not sure

Only if its s/c'd, there was an option for n/a for some of those years.

2004 has 255hp ? 2005-2007 have 260hp ? Is this true and why?

I don't see how thats possible, must be typo, or 2 different reviews.

ALSO 2004 and 2005 require premium gas and the 06/07s do not ?

unless its not s/c'd then you don't need premium.

In 2004 and 2005 there was the comp G which had tap shift with 3.29 gearing, suspension upgrades and lighter swirlly style wheels. The later years they did away with the gtp name, instead GT's were s/c'd.

If you plan on modding stay away from the 06's-08's. Stick with the 04's and 05's. Imo get a low mileage 97-03.

Im sure someone else will chime in as well.

Why stick with the 04/05s vs 06/07s?

Thanks

Easier to tune 04's and 05's. With 06 and 07 years you will have to swap pcm's and their has been issues with gas gauges reading backwards and a lot of other funky things.

get whatever you want. they are all the same. for the 06/07 to get a PCM to work you just have to switch to an 04/05 PCM which is really a big deal. if the worst of the effects is the gas gauge reading backwards i still think it would be worth it since the tune is the most important part of making the car run well.

So if the comp G had 3.29 gear, what do the others have? If I end up with a non comp G is there an even steeper gear I can put in?

of course a properly tuned stock car can run better than factory. From the factory they come out with a generic build and a generic tune. This tune is to get the car to perform but also last. GM has begun to deny warranty claims on engines that have been aftermarket tuned. Yes, you can reflash it back to stock but they have also caught on to that and know if something was in there.
