Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Just purchased an 05' gtp yesterday. This car came with Flomasters mufflers (as far as I can tell, everything else kinda looks stock) it also has an Intense 3.40" modular pulley system installed on the SC. The car has a MAJOR leak coming from the rack. Looks like 2 small steel lines rubbed through. I'm going to take it to my Mechanic for this. I'm replacing the plugs and wires today has a major miss when getting into boost. It has a few other minor problems but I drove it nearly 100 miles yesterday.

Anyway that's my story so far o. This car.

Greetings,

Jeff

I would remove that pulley if the rest of the exhaust is stock like headers/downpipe.

It won't take long for that motor to become scrap metal from a chipped piston.

It would be wise to research the reason why and at that time read up on modding safely. I know you bought it this way, but the owner before you doesnt understand that it's hurting the engine more than it is helping it.

Oh and welcome.

^x2. What he said. And If you don't have another pulley for the mps, order a 3.8 from zzp or intense and stay out of the boost until you get it.

Thanks guys, I'm aware of supercharged engines, I was very active in the Supercoupe forum, and was one of the first to post regarding porting of the older superchargers.
I'm going to get the tubular front manifolds here in a few weeks. Right now I'm going to just baby it. Until I figure out what else has been done. Some kid must have owned it before there's Spectere stickers all over the inside of the hood and an MSD superconductor sticker, even though it's got Bosch wires. Changing plugs and wires today.

Some things I have found about the car.

The air box is been removed and not installed correctly (no bolts). In fact I got another 13mm socket and a bunch of hardware. And a scotch lock. Looked at the wiring harness for the computer but it looks untouched.

The computer was loose in the bottom of the air box. I didn't see any thing except the factory sticker with pn info and a sticker that was rubber off with this number. KUB6623

The exhaust has been replaced from the rear manifold a new cat with an O2 after. All 2-1/2", There is a resonator about 18" long, about the size of a glasspack. Then the stock Y is retained with a set of 2 chamber 2 1/2" and some double tips. It looks stock from the rear.

That's all I've found so far.

The downpipe is the main thing you wanna check, if it still had the U bend by the 02 sensor then it's a stock DP and a major exhaust restriction point. If it is stock that should be the FIRST thing you replace if you keep that pulley on there! Also get a tool for scanning the car since even with an aftermarket DP you can still be getting KR. Lots of people on here use the Torque app with a Bluetooth OBDII reader.

Here's a link that all new owners should read whether that have a previously modified car or plan on doing anything to it in the future:

I'll take pics of the downpipe later when I get it back, but it comes almost straight back from the engine, I don't see much of a U. I am going to take it easy on this car for a while while I get everything sorted out. I am also 41 years old so I'm not going to be running this thing around like I was a kid again.

I have looked into the Bluetooth adapters, but the only ones I find for the IPhone are wifi which isn't a problem, but I haven't heard anyone have any real info on them. Everyone says to use an Android. That ain't going to happen. If someone knows of a Dongle and an app for the I Phone that would be great.

I have a boost gauge on the way, and my later plans are to add a remote start and alarm pretty soon. I am going to check into seeing if the car is already compatible with a factory remote start. Then the stereo will go in. I am not sure which items I want to use. It's all oldschool stuff from when I installed back in the 80's through late 90's.

Jeff

BTW: The first thing I did was read all the stickies and information before I ever posted, but thanks for looking out for the newbs.

The rear Y is the only thing that looks stock to me. It's darker. The rest of it looks like it was cobbled together by Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles.

I didn't know 04+ didn't have the U-bend on the down pipe so I couldn't say. I know on the 97-03 that's the biggest exhaust restriction and needs to be fixed before pulley dropping. Hopefully someone familiar with these cars knows. New DP or not though, you gotta be able to scan for KR if you're gonna keep the smaller pulley.

I'm definitely not keeping this pulley unless I get an intercooler. I'm seeing 10psi with less than 3/4 throttle (when it does go into boost). I'm going to order a 3.8". I wish I could just pull one off of one of several other GM M90s I have laying around.
