New GTP owner from IL

Hey guys, just picked up a 98 GTP so I figured I'd introduce myself. My name's Mark, been a GM guy for many years. I've played around with quite a few GM platforms, but this is my first W body. I've owned a third gen camaro, built myself 3 different V8 s10's and 2 for friends, and had a supercharged cobalt for a few years. I just sold one of my s10's to pick up this GTP and absolutely love the car. It's a white 2 door in really nice shape, picked it up cheap and it was bone stock. Will not stay that way for long.

Here's a link to my youtube channel if anyone wants to check out my other rides, all were built in my garage over the last 7 years or so. The black s10 is my current project, which has a 383cid sbc. The red first generation s10 was the first one I built, and the red second gen is the one I sold to buy the GTP. The cobalt was a blast, but I got tired of car payments and expensive insurance so I sold it last year.

Anyway, enough rambling about other cars. Glad to be here, looking forward to learning about and modding this GTP. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Welcome, lots of good info and people to help you out. Before you mod it read up on steps to take.
And the red S10 you built was a bad ass truck, I've seen it on CTR, you should post some pics of it too I'm sure some of the people on here will appreciate the work you did on it.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. You talking about the red one that I just sold? I was sorry to see it go, just wanted to play with something new. I'm so happy with this GTP I just bought, picked it up dirt cheap and it's really a nice car. Been reading up on pulley sizes and supporting mods, and will probably be ordering an aeroforce and a boost gauge shortly to make sure she's running right before I do anything.

Well, home is in Villa Park but with the economy in the dumps I decided to go back and finish college at EIU. So presently I'm in Charleston, IL, but I'm back and forth all the time (garage is in Villa Park).

im about 2.5 hrs south of you EIU is a sweet ass school. The ratio there is off the hook i think its like 10 hot chicks for every guy!
