how did you go about taking your center counsul out? ive been wanting to do that to my ride.

I plan to order some new carpet either this winter or next spring (new is $120 shipped for the same stuff I have used in restorations) looks to be a ton easier than some other vehicles I've done (everything gets out of the way pretty much)

$120!!! Crap, I looked at getting new carpet in the wifes Jeep and it was way more than that, I wanna say like twice more or better.

New carpet does a lot for the look. I like it.

I remember the first time I pulled up my center console. Still not sure what some of the things I found were... Or how they got in there? :th_laugh-lol2:

You gotta love all those coke spills over the years that no one cleans up. My wife's was so bad that when I removed the carpet the floorpans were laced with it. Had to pull out the sponge and bucket to clean before I could install the new carpet.

thanks guys...

Very nice. Was that very hard to do or just time consuming?
it took some trimming and all, but it really was quite easy... just as u said, VERY time consuming if u want it to look good, and not just thrown in there...

its quite simple actually... open ur console lid and remove the basket thing inside...
then start from the rear of the center console bezel, open the cup holders, and pull the bezel up... next i removed the shifter knob and plastic bezels for the PRND321... finally there are 6 screws that need to be removed... 2 10MM inside the cubby that u removed the basket from, 2 10MM holding the center of the console down (it is a silver L-shaped bracket, u just need to remove the bottom 2 bolts facing the ground) and finally 2 7MM (or phillips head) screws just below the ashtray... after that, just life the back of the console up slightly and pull towards the back of the car... (o and make sure u disconnect the electronics from in there, aux lighter, etc...)

don't forget to empty the cubby unless you like fishing stuff out from under the console too lol

yea id take coat over dip spit any day haha... but fortunatly thanks to my buddy, i dont have to deal with either!!!! i have never spilled anything in my car in 4 years, so that carpet should be great looking till i replace it with black maybe next summer
