Hello all, again. I've posted before I think, not sure. I've owned 2 SE's in the past with the 3100, went through 2 trannies and 1 motor in those cars... then tried an eclipse, sold that due to body rot and bought a 99 Accord which I'm currently driving.
Just got back from a deal made on a 1998 Grand Prix GTP coupe. Picked it up for $1100. Guy said it moves in 1-3, but doesnt have overdrive, so I thought it was the input shaft. well today it only moves in reverse and in 1 it feels like it almost wants to move. It could have had 1-3 a couple days ago, as the snow underneath is strawberry red, so it's got a tranny leak around the radiator support/middle exhaust manifold port area. Trannies are cheap so I'm not concerned about cost of that and I'll be replacing the radiator in case thats leaking trans fluid, but is the tranny a backyard mechanic DIY kinda repair?
Anyhow, coupe, stock, leather, heated driver seat, red, and clean with 196k on the clock, runs and started perfect with no issues.
Plans for it are currently, change SC oil, trans replace and rebuild blown trans for when the replacement goes, tranny cooler, 180* TS, general maintenance.
