Hello all. Subject says it all. Got a new battery 2 days ago. Got it in, the car started right up. Sat for 2 days, get in to go somewhere today and it says "Starting Disabled due to Anti Theft System". I search online, some say leave the key in turned to "on" posistion for ten minutes. Didn't work. Called one of the local dealer ships, what they suggested didn't work. So how can i get my car started again without having to take it to dealership? 05 Grand Prix base model. Another subject, cars display also says Battery Drain Failure or something like that. That tells me right there that i need a new alternator, correct? Thats the reason for the new battery, old one was dead and wouldn't hold a charge, plus it was bulging on the sides. Any help would be welcome.
Solved.
The new battery was bad. Since it was under warranty, i went and got a new one. Plus, took the alternator off and had it tested, it was good. Put everything back together, car started right up. So, all is good.... for now.
