• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Never fear, MrDavid is here!

Hello GPF!

My name is David Scott, and I am now the proud owner of a 2005 GP Base. This is the second W body that I've owned. The first was a 2003 Chev Impala LS. My car has pretty well no bells nor whistles, however, I have plans to change that. First, I want to do an interior swap.

I have been looking into installing heated leather seats and steering wheel radio controls. The radio controls seem straight forward enough, swap the rim and clock spring. I am installing an aftermarket head-unit at some point, so there will be no need to have my local dealership mess with my BCM. I chose a w body again because I wanted a comfortable yet fun people carrier. I live in Canada and one of the complaints that my passengers had with my leather swap in my Impala was the cold seats, so I have been looking at aftermarket seat heaters for the back seats. In my Impala, the heated front seats were contained in the seats themselves. Again I do not want to take my car to my local dealer to modify the BCM. If that is required, I will just install aftermarket heaters. I am installing a subwoofer in the back of the car, so I will already be running a big cable to the back of the car. I might just run it to a new fusebox with bunch of terminals, instead of having a bunch of inline fuses for all of these accessories. I will also be installing red LEDs because I have done that will all my cars so far and I see no reason not to.

This is a photosphere of the interior of my impala.

So far this forum has been a valuable source of information in my planning for my new vehicle. Come summertime i will be changing those steelies!

Welcome! Hope ya have fun with your project, get a build thread started when you start, it's fun to see cars transform.

I'm guessing your seats are dark grey, keep that in mind when buying leather ones, lol. 06+ is black, 04/05 is the dark grey, and if you can find a set of '05 GXP seats those are really nice, and then you don't have the cold leather problem so much since they're the sweed inserts or whatever. http://carreviewsandnews.com/images/2005pontiacgrandprixgxp/2005pontiacgrandprixgxp8.jpg
