Needz Meh Sum Rotors N Padz

Kk, I was under the impression by the growling of my breaks that I was going to need a new wheel hub, not the first time a GP has had this problem :p

During my oil change at work today I played with the wheels, nice and tight, little movement on them (I think it was the car moving on the lift rather than the actual wheel moving but could be wrong, not enough for one of the techs to see it being a problem). However when you spin the wheel you can find spots in the rotor where they are warped. Apparently the caliper bolts somehow backed them self off a smidgen and the rotors were dancing a little down the highway. Also the retainer clips for the pads had warped a little and scared the crap out of the backs of the rotors. Slight, very slight vibration at 70, thought tires needed balancing... glad it didnt get REALLY bad.
So we pulled the pads, low but still life left in them, straightened the retainer clips and reassembled everything and torqued the caliper bolts down nice and tight. I drove it and shes smooth, until you hit the pedal to stop. Some vibration, and there is some off and on squealing from the rotor on the pads on the uneven spots now.... sucks.

I figure with getting my wheels this weekend why not get some new rotors and pads and just make a day of it with the car. Please some suggestions on good brands for rotors and pads. Id prefer drilled &/or slotted so they look nice, staying with stock calipers for now, will upgrade later when I have more money. I know everyone wants the Brembos or Baers but I need serious good quality but AFFORDABLE. Id like to stay under $300 for the pads and rotors set if possible. Full set front and back btw. Looked around and theres so many options I don't know whats good or bad.

Sorry, this drug on for a simple question, but I like to get the info out before comments and thrown :th_thumbsup-wink:

PM Shawngtp and ask him what the setup he got off ebay was IIRC like 275 for 4 rotors and pads he said they were worth the money so I may go that route as well. I just havnt seen him on in a while.

i run the R1 concept rotors for the 12inch upgrade and ebc green stuff pads, the pads are by far the best ive ever had on this car, and i ran fbodys a couple of years ago

Here I am bishes so here are the pads and 12 inch rotors that you will need. 2 Front & 2 Rear Drilled Brake Rotors & 8 Pads Chevy GM - eBay (item 220724381664 end time Feb-11-11 14:04:09 PST)

And here are the 12 inch caliper brkts you will need to complete your 12 inch brake upgrade. Grand Prix Regal Monte Carlo 12" Brake Caliper Brackets - eBay (item 350389384230 end time Jan-27-11 07:18:35 PST)

Everything is direct bolt on and MUCH MUCH better braking.
Yes you use your front stock calipers and the rear are the same as stock just drilled and slotted.
