I wanna do some performance stuff to my NEW TO ME 97 GTP, do those performance chips that you see on ebay for ten dollars do anything, I am sure they dont, but has anyone had any luck with them.. I know a CAI would be benificial, also a exhaust kit cat back or rip the cat out?? what are some hp gains with exhaust and CAI, where to go for a performance tune or a tuner??? I need help, or i mean the car needs help.
 


those "chips" are pure scams, ripping the cat out won't do much (I had a chart from one of the exhaust companies showing the flow of the new stock cats, and they are very good, and nothing aftermarket was close)

on my grand prix as far as exhaust goes i kept my cat but there are two resistor between the cat and the mufflers that are there to quiet the car down but i cut them out and strait piped it from the cat to the mufflers and can definently feel the power icrease and it sounds great
 
Its just like getting rid of the Halogen Pressure Switch Relay in the headlights to give you that HID look without all the money and work of buying HID's!
 


^^^^hehehe...did anyone else see the resistor in the exhaust statement??? just being a smart a$. don't get pissed now.
 
yes i saw it, but figured he ment resonator.. but anyways, I read in lots of places that getting rid of the resonator is a no no, people saying it makes the car sound more tinny(sp) I am in need of a new resonator and found one for 120 and that is the cost for me installing it myself. I will need to do something soon to this thing.
 
I bought and installed the HID headlights, and had i of know i could just remove the Halogen Pressure Relay Switch that would have saved me a ton of money.... damn it.
 


resonator in my car was gone (sux) put a glasspack in this week------much mo better. headers 3"d/p no cat glasspack and stock muffs. need some diff ones sometime.
