Need to replace headlights

do to a run in with bambi, I need to replace the headlight housing. I have tried to read all the posting on HID and projection. And to be hoesty, I'm to scared to pay 200-300 for any of them. Can someone make this a simple and painless as possible?

I want Chrome not Black and I want the best possible night vision!

So who has the best quality set and where can i get them?
