• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

IR II IP IDEATH

Oxymoron: Civic - Fun
So I have a friend that has a gun I'm interested in, it's a Ruger mini 30 and it's around 15 years old(ish) he has a new stock with a pistol grip and also a front mount pistol grip, the gun also has a Simmons scope, 4 30 rd mags, a 4 rd hunting mag and comes with 800 rds of ammo. I'm thinking I can get this for around $600-700 but I'm not sure if it's worth it giving that the gun has some age. I've tried looking them up but can't find one with that style of configuration he has. Are there any gun ppl on here that knows if this is a fair deal or not? Thanks.

I remember back when I was 18 or so, those guns would sell new for around $425-450. I honestly wouldn't consider the aftermarket stock, scope or mags adding to the price. If it's configured like that, they're probably cheap. The only way the mags would carry merit is if they're actual Ruger mags, doubt they are... don't think they made anything bigger than a 5rnd for the 30.

On another note, I have issues spending big money for a rifle in 7.62x39. The Mini-30s are reliable, but they're not very accurate and you're in SKS/AK territory, which can either be purchased at a fraction of the cost or have a wider community support with cheaper accessories. If you want it and it's in good condition, offer $500 and walk away. Otherwise, grab a cheap AK and have fun with it.
