I have a 99 Grand Prix with a 3.8 automatic,the will not shift out of park till it sits and runs for 1 or 2 min. then it will shift fine any idea's it does have a alarm system could that cause the problem,

does the shift lock override next to the shifter allow you to shift out?

could be the alarm. your harness was spliced into which could cause problems
