Need Help Upgrading '04 Grand Prix GTP

Ok guys I just bought my 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G and really want to upgrade the engine and allow it to hang with my buddies stock 1998 z28, which is putting out around 350hp maybe. Anyone have any ideas about what i should put into it. Looking to spend a max of $2,000 possiblly and dont want to get into rebuilding parts.

Wanted to put in cool air intake, 3.4 pully, [SIZE=-1]PRJ Performance Ignition Wires, Dual QTP Electric Exhaust Cutouts, and I dont know if it will add anything but the Inferno hood from PFCY.

Any ideas would be apreciated.

why do you want a cutout, let alone more than one?

id buy an intercooler right away and be done with it. maybe a downpipe to open up the exhaust a little.
 
I want it to be in the low 13's or mid 13's. Was thinking about a 3800 performance staging kit but seeing as everyone is against them not sure anymore. Also might be buying those plugs in the near future. Not sure about your intake because it says 97-03 not '04.
 
want the cutouts bc i like the noise but i dont know if i want to hear an exhaust in the the morning when driving to work.

Cool. We offer intakes for the 04+ It's just got a section cut out to allow the MAF to go inbetween.
 


buy an intercooler, get a tune, and run whatever pulley you can get away with when you run about 18* of WOT timing. that will have you in the lower 13s for sure.

and for the record, youre only going to need one cutout. its impossible to run two.
 
Stage kits are stupid. Stage 2 Intercooler, 42.5# Injectors, Some sort of headers, Intake, 180* T-Stat, Autolite 104's, 3.0" pulley...then get ready to put a transmission in.
 
DONT BUY A CUTOUT on these cars ive tried GARBAGE unless turbo'd (i miss mine)

but def do a full IC, rockers, maf, intake, headers, you'll need fuel rails (prj ftw), umm throttle body turn down, wideband, 3.0 or 2.8 pulley
i used to have the same setup and could have done the 2.8 with no problem (but i also added a nice little cheater ice box in the truck!
i have a 04 gtp as well!
ill be doing the same setup again
