I just finished a head gasket change on the 3800 from my '02 GP, did the LIM and a new plenum and gasket. thought I had a vaccum leak because of sputtering, checked that out with some carb cleaner, everything is good in that aspect. just took it down the road and it pops and sputters,:th_scratchhead: any ideas ? thought maybe valve lash? Haynes manual said to torque to specs. is it possible the rods are not seated properly, I can't see how though.. :th_question1:
It seems simple and please correct me if I wrong:
torque the head
put the rod guide in
insert the rods in same place they were in
torque the rocker arms (in the same place they were in) to spec

any ideas?
I need some help guys!!

did you mess wit spark plugs at all? and dose it do it all the time or just wot ? mabey it could be a broken wirt if you have a muilty meter check them and go from there that can be a big prouble and it is one of the cheapest .....

are the wires used mabey there is a rissestince proublem in the wires if the wires ar not new try a new set when dose it do it w.o.t? or regular throttle?

did you make sure the pushrods were locked into the lifter? how BAD is it popping? does it sound like it wants to come back up through the intake? check each spark plug for hairline cracks...

I got it fixed! It's the wires, I went out last night to check the firing order and found the order was correct. I then made sure everything was secure. I got up this morning and drove it and it was fine. i guess thats it!! thanks guys!!
