• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I did a full swap in a supercharged l67 for a built blocl with stage 3 heads intense stage 2 cam also had higher compression pistons 42# injectors and a built trans as well. Went to start it and my father messed up some wiring on the starter and basically electrified the block. It was causing pin 45 on a 97 computer to overheat and smoke. Well I revversed all the incorrect wiring and finally got it put back together. Now I have fuel spark and obviously air. I didnt have fuel or spark before these issues were fixed. I had a couple of backfires but have not had the car succesfully fire. And now the wire on pin 45 smokes when you are turning it over. But it remains fine if the car is sitting there. Before it would smoke as soon as the battery was connected. I am lost and cannot figure out what the hecck is going wrong now. The block and trans are from a 98 the car is a 97. Should I just give up and start a bonfire with the damned thing? Ive worked on so many cars this is the only one ive ever had get the better end of the stick on me.

Might have fried the pcm by pushing voltage through it backwards etc. I'm with Cam.. You need to know what pin 45 on ..which connector does.

Ignition control module ground. I know what it does. Beyond that im not real sure how to make it do what it is suppose to do. I believe it could also be fried hpwever. The fuel and spark wasnt operational prior to fixing the wiring issue

Pin 45 blue connector is low reference for the ICM. It does go through connector 110 which is the one by the pressure regulator that connects the ICM harness to the main harness.

What exactly does it do? Why is the car starting without it. Any idea why it is heating up to the point pf burning the insulator?

look for a pinched wire where the tensioner / coil bracket is bolted on, if you cant wiggle the harness in and out of that little hole casted in the bracket, you pinched a wire.
