NEED HELP! 94 grand prix will only restart after waiting

i can drive my grand prix to a location, but will not start when i get back in it. if i wait a while 15-30 mins it will start up again after triing to turn the car over a couple of times, but the idle is rough for a few moments. i have changed one of the 3 coil packs after it was idling rough along with all the plugs and wires. this is my families only car now as our other car just died. really need som help.
 


94 is a bit older than a lot of us play with, but it could be the crank position sensor. If they get hot the signal is too weak to create spark and that would cause your issue. Sorry about the bad luck.
 
where is this sensor located i have looked everywhere for an exploxed view of the engine, but no luck. the only thing i can find on the internet is the camshaft sensor.
 


thanks guys i went to my local auto parts store and they gave me a different looking sensor that looks like a cylinder and is held in place by one bolt. i will take that one back and get the other one.
 
That engine has 2 different crank position sensors by my research. That one you have is the low resolution sensor mounted on the back of the block. Put it in and see if it fixes your problem. If not, then get the high resolution sensor behind the crank pulley.
