• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hey guys newbie here from the space coast in fl.

Just got a 2002 GTP to power my fiero, and will be needing some help on modding the engine for a fun little car!

Here is a pic of said GTP (which I am parting out or selling as whole!)

Thanks for the link!

I am debating on finding a gen v blower instead of modding my old one. I would also need to learn more about the n☆throttle body mod as well. I will probably start a thread over on Pennocks on the fiero, but will definitely post here on the engine aspects.

Heres the old 2.8!

I wouldn't bother with a gen v unless you are going to do an all out build. the only situation I have seen where it was better was when putting a pulley smaller than a 2.6" on it.

Uhm. I don't quite agree with that. I've been told. on numerous accounts, by numerous people with "built" GP's.... a GenV swap alone, is the equivalent to a Gen3, on a 3.4 pulley, and supporting mods.

But i'm sure, now that I've said that, i'll have people telling me that it's a lie. but it's whatever lol

Read this thread tho
http://www.grandprixforums.net/thre...arger-faq-swap-thread!!-(genv-gen-five-gen-5)

Im also looking at doing the speed daddy headers, and seems like I may be doing a cam as well.

I would just get your gen 3 ported. I have a N* on mine, but it has been a lot of hassle to get it working properly. if I was going to do it again I would get the supercharger case inlet ported to 72 mm and put a zzp HVTB on it. speed daddy headers are a good way to go, but it is a good idea to cut out the interlock flex section and weld in a shorter one. the speed daddy headers downpipe drops down a bit too low for me to be comfortable with.

Lots of us love gen 5. Read up and make your own decision.

Couple fiero's out there that are intercooled 3.8 gen 5! 1.9 rockers are good power adder.

The gen v is a good swap candidate once you've run out of pulley on the gen 3 (once you get down to about a 2.8 or so). Plus it makes a lot more noise.

Gen 5 is a good mod. $200 is a good price point for 15-20 hp. You don't need to run a 2.8 pulley, there are benefits with a 3.4 pulley. You don't need to port the inlet on a gen 5.
