• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What up! I'm in the market for a 00-02 GP GTP and think I have found "the one" lol. I've got the guy to agree to $3700 for the car as-is minus the wheels pictured. He also has the factory hood and front bumper to throw in along with miscellaneous other parts.

Am I getting a good deal? Is there anything else I should be on the lookout for? Everything that I looked over appeared to be solid but I'm no expert.

Is that azgmperformance.com you're talking about?

EDIT: yes it is....although registering is impossible because the captcha-style thing required to register is not functioning. Yippee!

Terrible deal.. Rebuilt motors are a gamble with our cars.. Some only last a few hundred miles if that. Personally for a 10 year old car with that kind of mileages he's asking to much. Also mods don't add value to a car. Id wouldn't pay more then $2500 for it if everything else checks out.

He's got around 5000 miles on the rebuilt engine along with all the mods, but I agree that a rebuilt engine is ALWAYS a concern. This isn't his first Grand Prix and it seems like he knows his stuff though. Also, I know that mods don't add value, but it's all stuff that I would plan on doing myself anyhow so why not get a car with it all done to save me some time and money? I've modded so many cars at this point that I am almost tired of doing it (mainly because of having to deal with a nagging wife).

Try to find out how he went about rebuilding it. Did the engine chip a piston/spin a bearing/or kick a rod? If so stay far away. If it was a LIM repair and maybe just the front timing cover was leaking then consider it. If he did anything to the bottom end again stay away. From the pics on craigslist it looks like it may have a new front timing gasket, water pump gasket and the aluminum coolant elbow which makes me think the LIM was done. TRY TO GET MORE INFO.

And you have no way of knowing if he put 5000 miles on the rebuild beside his words.

The LIM was all done. He also replaced piston rings and all bearings. Not sure if anything was wrong with the engine when he rebuilt it but I can find out.

Does he have any receipts. This may help you find out how long it's been since the work was done. If he has a receipt from 2 weeks ago and tells you he put 5000 miles on the engine you know he is full of it.

He has receipts for all the machine work that was done. A local shop rebuilt the entire head and did the machine work but he did the rings/bearings on his own and re-assembled everything. He's built quite a few GP GTP engines before this one, says that there was nothing wrong with the engine other than being "tired" and he rebuilt it so it was fresh for when he started modding it. He used to run a 3.4" ZZP modular pulley on it but went back to stock awhile ago and sold the mps cause he needed money at the time.

All 4 window regulators were replaced 1 year ago. Interior lighting was all converted over to LED. Car would come with spare head and LIM. Interior is clean and in good shape, no rips or major signs of wear at all. Only con is that the volume button on the radio is starting to go out, but the steering wheel controls still work well (not much of a concern to me because the HU would be upgraded eventually anyhow). Engine oil was full and a nice caramel color, and the trans fluid was full and looked good also.
