N/A L67 timing differences with/vs L36?

dunno if this was discussed yet, but prolly a dumb/crazy idea I thought up just now. For the L67 and the L32 guys, if u take the s/c belt off, (why would u in the first place right? Lol) and add timing, how much can u add? I understand the N/A guys are running more timing up top, but is it possible for the L67/L32 to run the same amount of timing as theirs? Also since the L67s are 8.5:1CR wheras the L36/L26 run a higher compression ratio(cant remember), would that allow more or less timing to be able to run?

That would take a lot of extra tuning besides adding additional timing. Only a guess, but I bet you couldn't add enough timing to compensate for the loss of the blower.
However, I would like to commend you on your curiousity, and thought process. I too would love to hear from someone that actually knows about this.

I'm willing to bet you can run L36 timing tables + another 3-4* on top of them with the 8.5:1 CR. You might be able to do even more than that in spots if you keep running 93 octane. Throttle response sucks on a L67/32 without the SC belt though because it is harder for the air to get into the motor.....3.5" or 4" intake into the TB and then going into the ~1" bypass valve opening. When I drove my car for a month without the SC belt (SC snout seal was leaking, but I had no time to fix) my MPG's were actually worse than with the SC belt installed. The car was a little harder to start too.

I'm guessing if someone wanted to run it that way all the time, I'd remove the rotors and snout and install a block off plate so that air isn't as restricted coming into the motor.

N/A Tune on 94 you can run like 32* of WOT timing. It's hilarious.... obviously depending on mods... IIRC my car got up to 36* with the belt off ...lol. It actually wasn't that bad, it was about as fast as my rocker'd L36 lol. (MY GTP has cam/heads/headers etc..)

I know of a few people up here who will switch to a no S/C tune when the snow hits up here.

My old GT used to hit 36-38* of timing with no KR. With lower compression Id say 40+ at WOT might be obtainable. Who knows what good it will do however.
