My "Why not to buy from PFYC" thread

My PFYC sucks rant - So I bought this SD Air dam from PFYC. But first I emailed Brian at PFYC and asked him to check the quality of the piece b4 sending out as I heard there were bad ones. He assured me he would.

My body shop made the mistake of painting the bumper b4 test fitting and discovered it wasn't even close to a proper fit. I emailed Mike at PFYC with pictures. Regardless of the fact that it had been painted, he adamantly insisted over and over that the body shop must have modified the air dam and they could never ever have a defect. He said they go right from at a factory in a different location to the buyer. Which tells me Brian never inspected it as promised. Mike offered to fly out to me and fit it himself if I would pay for the flight, but then said he had no body shop experience. Yet he sent an email with spores on the air dam he recommended trying to sand to make it fit. My body shop looked at the email and we held the pic to the car determining this would never work. The body shop offered to talk to Mike and have him give recommendations how to fit it. Mike would not talk to them. He merely called them incompetent over and over and insisted that PFYC could never make a defective product. I have the emails if anyone wants to see them.

In the end my body shop took a lot of extra time to reshape and remold the 3/4" gaps in the fit as a courtesy. PFYC BUYER BEWARE

All the air dams have fitment issues. Mine is no different than my brothers. You should have had it delivered to you instead so that you could test fit it prior to painting it. PFYC is basically the middle man. They just drop ship from wherever just like they do with the spoilers.

I had similar issues with PFYC too. My spoiler had very visible deep cracks (all the way through to the inside) develop after painting. I took very good pictures and corresponded with them doing everything they asked for weeks. It became obvious they just wanted the problem to go away and were giving me the run around. I finally gave up... Exactly what they wanted. I had a Cadillac dealer who works with fiberglass often do all the work and they were willing to paint a new spoiler and install for free. Im a sales professional (middle man) myself and would never treat a customer this way. I will never buy from PFYC again. if I treated customers this way I'd be out of business.

they sent me g6 gxp grills and I emailed them, 4 days later had my GP gxp grills with no return shipping label for the g6 ones so I now have a g6 set I don't need, and don't even have anyone to give to LOL

Sometimes, a threat to do a charge back on your credit card can motivate a less than satisfactory seller. ;)

Though I'd say this is a tougher case because you/the body shop technically really messed up by not test fitting the air dam first. That's something any body shop should do in advance, so perhaps they ARE incompetent to some degree.
