my ride was totaled today

265k miles on my '08 and was going to make 300k. totaled by a distracted driver that ran a red light. slammed into rear door/tire going about 45 mph.she admitted to popo she was distracted by her phone,too.
I was pretty calm when it happened but I'm getting a little.... I'll just say upset. I kept her in pretty dam good mechanical condition. i loved how it drove and knew my baby front to back.
 


Damn man, that is heartbreaking. That thing was barely broken in, lol.. I'd be pissed if someone killed my car like that, for just not paying attention. I get it if it was weather related or something but to just flat out not look is punishable in my eyes. You're driving a 3-4 ton vehicle. Pay the F attention people!!

You have a right to be pissed off. Now you have to deal with insurance, their insurance and go through the hassle of finding another ride that you like. And you'll likely be sore tomorrow.

Maybe upgrade to a G8?
 
thanks, fordman. surprisingly I'm not sore at all- the ONLY positive of this. I think not seeing it coming helped. just broke in is right! she still had the pep, one reason on got a 3800 car. getting on an expressway, I'm up to speed way before having to merge. passing another car- its done pretty quick... and neither of those cause the engine to scream.
new to me car shopping is gonna be fun and thanks for the reminder of a G8! I've been lookin at malibus and impalas already.
when it comes to dealing with insurance I am fortunate to have a niece that work in law and knows how to deal with insurance companies. i don't think I have the right vocabulary to deal with them. :)
