My project of swapping without much for tools or a garage...

Loaned some of my tools out, so I'm stuck wrenching everything. This will be just a straight swap from totaled gtp to gt. Subfram and all going in 2000 gt. Hope all works out good for me, I need another car lol...

This has been one hell of an ordeal for me. I did get it to stay running but without going through and working the wiring, I'm going to have some problems. Internal wiring is not set up the same and is throwing everything off. Dummy lights on and temp gauge won't work. The abs was the same but I got tat worked in today. Anyone have any ideas that might help?
Thanks

you need the gtp pcm in the gt car now, the map sensor pig tail cut off the old gtp harness, then cut the na map plug off and solder on the l67 map plug and vac line that in there.

your missing the bbv solenoid pig tail too, thats gonna set a code. but can be tuned out with a tuner. iirc you can wire that in if you want. you got the old harness should be able to trace it down to the pcm.

smart move. so what codes you get or whats it doing?

the air box from the gt will fit too, its a better set up then the crappy 98 box you got in there.

It's not matching with the internal wiring

put the other harness back in, only thing you need to change is the map pig tail, and add the bbs in or not. the pcm will still fit. if any sensors dont plug in, change swap the sensor from the na engine.

I used the air box from the 98 but that's an easy switch. I can't get codes yet because I don't have the tool for it. Too much for me to even rent. Right now I'm just concerned about the temp gauge not working.

your mixing years that are not fully compatible. maybe best to run the na harness in its intact state. if the temp sensor plug is not the same, use the one from the na engine.

How bout if I keep the 98 harness and just change the wiring going into the fuse box from the 2k?

i see spaghetti all over the place.

you should have left the na harness alone. added the l67 map and been done with it.

guys top swap and dont change the harness, just add the one pig tail for the new map.

I wouldn't be so persistent about the 98 wiring setup but I didn't do to well with the 2k wiring....

I did a full was and was told it's best to switch the wires and fuse box but I see that's not all right
