• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My new oil cap is 90 degrees out. :(

So, I decided to go easy for my first "mod", plus I really liked the look of it. Got the following oil cap off of Ebay IMG_0568.jpg The original cap is properly situated. IMG_0564.jpg So, does anyone else have this oil cap? Is the L67 part just a sticker? If so, can it be taken off put back on properly situated with 3M double sided super sticky tape? or do I call up the seller and ask for a different one?

Wow that sucks. Someone didn't get their coffee and donut that day.
I don't have one but I'ld probably try prying first with a razor blade to catch the edge then get under it with a putty knife. Scrape both sides, sand a little bit, use some gel super glue and reposition.

Doesn't really answer your question but if all fails, what the hell

Meh, contact for a replacement first... if they give you a hard time try fixing it yourself. If you cant fix it yourself open a claim on ebay, as long as they advertised that it would face forward correctly. If they didnt specify that I think you might be SOL as far as a defective or false advertising point because they never actually said it would face frontways when screwed on.

You do realize that all you need to do is remove the cap and start threading it in a different position right?

did you buy that used? i bought mine new off ebay, the sticker came with it, but it was not attached. the instructions said to install cap then place sticker.

Actually, the sticker was not even attached, but just semi stuck in place by a tiny amount of gook. I pulled it up, cleaned the surface, installed the cap, and then installed the sticker as per the unneeded instructions. Now all is well in fancy oil cap land. :) IMG_0570.jpg
