• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

ok so my maf isnt working and i have emission i have to go to so i need to get the engine light to go off and no code my car is a 2001 and i have a couple 97/98 style tb and maffs will they work on my car please help emissions is tomorrow and i need to insure my car

you can un plug the battery for 30 minutes and that should reset the codes, but if your state does a obd scan it might scan as just being cleared.

my friend just got away with this 2 weeks ago too, sometimes you get lucky, his light came on as he was driving out of inspection.

ya they do a obd scan and it cost 50 bucks so i dont want to take a chance they got me with my old gp i had the rear o2 code deleted and it found that

do you have a known working maf? put it in and un hook the battery, it should be ok.

or drive it for 50 miles and see if it goes off by itself.

hit a local junk yard tomorrow morning and get a used maf then, 40 bucks or so at best, and its yours, you dont have to give it back, and your car will be happy too.

ya i whent today they were all gone guy said its the first thing they sell so im gunna have to borrow my dads then buy one off here

Reseting the PCM Resets the OBD tests. This will cause a unready Failure at the emissions. If you go there and fail they just give you an extension. Not a big deal

hes Canadian, so it may not work like it does here in the states with the 30 days to get it fixed stuff, and he has to pay for inspection, un like most of us, so he may have to pay every time he tries to pass.

yup and thats why are emissions sucks no extensions

If you swap the TB, you shouldn't see any codes from the maf. Because the changes aren't all that drastic.

Sounds like you did that and it's all good though.

Brandon..go whore it up for post counts in a lounge thread.
