My gtp vs my buddys stang where do i stand....

so my buddy has a 92 5.0 mustang we have been doing a lot of s**t talking to each other an he has made it pretty clear he's going
to be mad if he loses to a v6 so lets make him mad I need opions or even actual race exp. Vs one ....... so to the cars an mods

I'm thinking at least I wont loose by to much he also told me his best in a 8th was 7.5 I didn't see slips
 


Honestly, you shouldn't even beat on the car without a custom tune for those mods, you're playing with fire if you do decide to race him.

But if you were tuned and all that jazz, I'd say you'd have him beat....................maybe.
 
its funny if people get mad because they lose to a v6.
thought those people would be over themselves when they got their asses kicked by a grand natty.
back to the race. his gearing will set him up nice for down low, but i think that will be his downfall and i think (surpringly) youll take him in the top end.
 


I'm gonna be scanning for knock, if it has a good amount of knock I will have it dyno tuned at a local performance shop

If u think I can get him on top ill race a 1/4 mile with him

Gotta bench race till the track opens lol
 
I have owned a 90 LX 5.0 with most of the same mods that guy has, minus the 410 rear end. I can tell you from owning the 5.0 to the GTP you will spank his a$$ in the long run, he will get you off the line if he is able to get traction, but you will reel him in. Just my opinion, oh and E7 heads ported or not are junky poop. Now if he had GT40P heads or AFR's and tune, that would change the game.
 
If he really runs mid 7's in the 8th, you will get walked hard.

But, I don't think he is that fast, judging from his mods.
 
I like that he has a cam, intake etc. You have injectors.

Based on mods, I'd think he should take you. Definately off the line.

The SN95 car got a cam swap (B303) after that race with upgraded springs and upped the shift points I guess....

Anywho, ran a locals GTP (3.4", 1.95 rollers, headers, custom tune, ported TB/blower, built trans with 3.29's...) and from a dig the stang would put about a car or so on it by 100~...from a 20, 30, and 50 kick...the stang would jump a fender everytime and then the GTP would hold the fender and the stang wouldn't gain anymore ground...granted it's a Fox you'll be racing...But it'd be a pretty close race from a roll I think.

But rolls are for bakeries.
 


Thinking about it he might have the gt40s but I could be wrong I'm almost positive he said e7

I have my old gt trans with the 3.29s in it but I might not be able to get my drag radial before we hit the track soi was gonna leave the 2.93s in it because it spins alot off theline now
 
IMO, Cam and Intake ain't sh1t without heads on a 302. Heads are the choking point on the Fox.

Either way run his a$$ and get done with it. If you lose that is motivation to get stronger, if you win that is motivation to maintain.

I meant i got the 3.29 trans from when my l36 was in the car i currently have 2.93's in it.

I want to change them do we have a write up on that here or step by step ive benn all over a motor never in a trans no further then the filter
 


3.29's would make a difference in your car a bit quickens in the 1/4

as far as the race goes you should beat the mustang not by much (that is if you both can drive)
 
Yea I'm ready to run him he thinks he's the fasest thing around I wanna shut him up with the 6 bangeranyone know where to find a step by step guide if not its nothin but a thing prolly pretty straight foward
