2003 Bonneville

it's still having it intermittent misfire on #1 cylinder, I don't thinks it's a morning car. at 0630 in the morning it will come up with the misfire with codes P0301 and P0201. Here's the post of what has been done with it so http://www.grandprixforums.net/threads/98369-Intermittent-PO301-code I have also cleaned the pcm connector and the fuel injector connector. I may just change that out. I need to have my buddy come over when he has time away from school, he's an aircraft electrician.

1999 Grand Prix

Yesterday on the way home from the parts store to pick up some tune up parts for a Dodge Durango next door, the Grand Prix started surging and almost dying at stop lights. Check engine light was flashing intermittently, I was able to nurse her home the mile and a half to the house and pulled the codes. It came up with a P0300, P0301, P0336, and a P1380 codes, I had a crankshaft position sensor laying around and did that this morning. I'll also put my extra coil pack on. It's the P1380 that has me confused.

Thanks
Max

Makes sense on the P1380 code I have one of the rear hubs that has a bad sensor. I'll be messing with the coil pack probably tomorrow. The post for the #1 cylinder on the current pack appears to have a little corrosion on it.

If I had an injector code and a cylinder misfire, I wouldn't be messing with coil packs.

The car is telling you where the issue is. Pull a 194 bulb out of your turn signal, straighten the prongs and stuff it into that connector. Fire it up (yes on 5 cylinders and see if that light flashes a lot. If not.. it's wiring. If it does flash, move the injector and likely the problem follows it.

On the Grand Prix I swapped out a coil pack with an extra that I had laying around today. She runs just fine now, the old one had a bunch of corrosion on the #1 post. The Bonneville is still up in the air, thanks for the tip Bill as far as a nod light. I have several 194 bulbs around.

NP.. I mean you have a code for an injector. Check the power/ground first because.. well it's easy. Then lift the rail if you have to.

Thanks Bill and Scotty for the help. On the Grand Prix it ended up being a bad spark plug wired. The 03 Bonneville which had been a nightmare for a year is looking like she maybe fixed, somewhere in the wiring harness it had a short that was only affected by temperature and humidity in the mornings. Yesterday I changed out the engine harness and so far so good.
