My car starts up, runs, then dies. Please help

my 99 gtp will start up no problems but only runs for like 5 seconds then dies during the time its running it sounds fine, when it dies it does it without any coughing or sputtering sounds like its been shut off, if i keep my foot on the gas it will keep running but soon as I letup the slightest bit it dies like if im revving it at 3k and drop down to say 2.9k it dies... any ideas?

fuel pump resistor. in the fuse panel in the engine compartment. take out the fuel pump relay and bend pin 85 out. then reinstall the relay..should run fine then

so tried that half worked it runs for about twice as long before she dies same thing but now while idling the rpm drops slightly almost dieing then goes back up does this 3 or 4 times then dies...

my car did this when i left my break booster hose off :th_jester:

have had nothing done to it recently... last thing i did was an oil change which was a month ago

mine would rev up to 3k then fall off completely lol

i guess i should mention it smells like shes running rich... but im thinking that could just be the left over fuel from when she dies

tried everything suggested there... no dice... ive unplugged bot relays 14 and 15 bent out the pins each time i did that (did them one at a time) it ran a little longer the first time before dieing then went back to dieing right away i dont see any vacuum lines unplugged i cant find any leaks as it just wont run for long enough to even try and hear if theres a leak i cleaned up my IAC had no affect unplugging the MAF has no affect she just dont want to run i tried looking underneath to see if anythings been pinched everything looks fine from what i can see kinda hard being on the ground and all... now the car was put into the ditch last week i should have mentioned that earlier i guess but it ran fine until i went to start it today im at a complete loss...

tried and nothing as far as damage goes i can't see any damage but it is hard to tell exactly as i have no way of getting under the car
 


hey onos, hey does ur car have problems at cold start in the mornings? is it just actin up when engine is warm? had the same prob. turned out to be a maf sensor.
 
if ur maf had no effect when unplugging, it would make sense because ur maf is prolly dead to the point where the car is already in "safe mode" as if it was unplugged anyway. just try disconnecting maf and remove battery cables for like 15 min to clear all codes if any. then leave maf unplugged and connect battery and try to start let us know...
 
i dont have any issues with it starting and theres no codes showing up, it just doesnt run, it was cold this morning and it started fine when i tried and just like when its warmer out runs for about 3-5 seconds then dies, i dont know how it will act with the engine warmed up as it i cant get it warmed up being that it only runs for 5 seconds at a time
