My 2003 Grand Prix GT New Pics

Re: My 2003 Grand Prix GT

What kind of mufflers are you getting?

Walker ss quiet flows. Basically stock replacements. I actually like the stock 3800 exhaust sound. I am actually really debating on either just getting the u-bend cut out and deleted or..buying the zzp down pipe. I read reviews that you see a greater gain with the down pipe then just welding in a straight piece of pipe to get rid of the u-bend. From your experience with the 2.5" down pipe is it worth getting or should I just go the quick route with the u-bend delete?

Re: My 2003 Grand Prix GT

Ya, I'd recommend buying the 2.5" ZZP dp. However don't get the cat that comes with it, buy the dp. cat less with the 02 bung. Then get a quality cat. welded in. These cars don't like cheap cats. Any mechanic will say the same thing. You will also need a gasket for the rear dp. flange, the front gasket should be reusable. Over all, it's a prety straight forward bolt in.

I now remember you saying that in another post. I think in the end I am just going to get an exhaust shop to do the u-bend delete for me. Cheaper that route. I will hopefully get a chance this weekend to post some recent pics of the car with the exhaust and tips on.

Re: My 2003 Grand Prix GT

Well the tips I got from pfyc.com are a little to heavy to put on the quiet flow ss mufflers I originally wanted to put on my car. So I returned those and have got a set of magnaflows since they are alot stronger. Mufflers and tips go on monday morning. Pics and maybe a vid posted then to.

Re: My 2003 Grand Prix GT

What do you mean to heavy? The hangers should hold everything in place. Either way, Magnaflows should last a long time and aren't to loud.

The mufflers I was going to put on already had tips welded on. Very poor and crappy looking dual outlets. They are horrible. The mufflers themselves you could feel were a little thinner. Good for stock replacements. When he felt the weight of the tips he said if he welded them on, about a year from now I would be coming back to get it fixed. I will take a pic and show you what I mean. I am actually happy this happened because in the end I got a nice set of magnaflows for the exact same price. When they get put on im getting all new hangers welded on for the mufflers too as well as a couple hangers redone throughout on the exhaust.

Re: My 2003 Grand Prix GT

On Monday I had these tips put on with Magnaflow performance mufflers. Love the way these tips look and even better how the mufflers sound. Nice and low with very minimal drone.

Painted the outline of the grills silver. Love the look.

Last but not least back in april I installed a 10 inch Pioneer subwoofer with a 600 watt amp. Nice system and gets loud when I want it too.

So that is the end of a little update. Some nice weather coming up in the forecast so I will be doing a full detail including under the hood. Will post some more pics then.

I like the tips, cars comming along nicely. We're did you get your exhaust work done, if you don't mind me asking?

Muffler Guy in Newmarket. He is located on Leslie just pass the lights at Gorham. Good guy. The car is coming along. I think the next thing to do will be the brakes since they need to be done. Slotted and crossed drilled with ceramic pads. After that I am going to get the u-bend delete and maybe a tune. Also throw in a shift kit because I need to do a pan drop and why not throw one in there while I can. Modding gets very addicting lol. The car is just about where I want it to be.
