My 2002 GT

These are the things that I have recently done to my GT. Fabricated cold air intake, installed u-bend straight pipe, installed 160 thermostat, changed oil to Royal Purple 5-30, changed coolant, changed brake fluid, changed tranny fluid and filter and installed ceramic pads at all four corners. Anybody have any other suggestions on what else to install for a performance upgrade? The car has 83k miles.

SSAC headers or pacesetters, cheapest ones that i know of, and ER rockers along with hv3 insert and a tune, get the insert last out of all of them cause if u get it first (like i did) u wont feel anythin, then get ur tune

Really? I was going to go CAI, Mufflers, HV3, and tune route but do you recommend the headers as well?

There are many conflicting opinions about the 160 tstat. It may behoove you to do some more research. You're about 40 degrees below the operating temperature that the engine was designed for.

yea headers is a nice addition, but hv3 is setup to go with ER rockers and a tune, and its prolly best mods to get on a N/A car next to top swapping and a cam, and yea do mufflers (i recommend SLP cause on mine it sounds real agressive) and for headers thats up to u i just suggested SSAC or pacesetters cause there cheap and get the job done

Mufflers? Ha! Don't bother. Anything other that stock sounds terrible and will net you 0 ponies.

CAI is a waste. Make your own open cone.

Royal Purple is a sham. They were designed to run on conventional oil. Not fancy crap with purple in it. Go to Walmart and buy Castrol.

Ceramic pads? What for?

HV3 is good after rockers.

Tune is must after any mod.

Problem is with a really low-temp-open tstat the coolant just rushes thru all the time and you end up with overheating issues cause it doesn't stay in the rad long enough to cool (in layman's terms)

A tune (not a tune up, two different things) is the "parameters" if you will within which a motor will operate. It's written into the computer, which obviously controls what the motor does.

Wrong. He can get away without a tune with what he could be doing. If he wants to take full advantage of what the car can do, then a tune will do him good.

Stock Knock sensor dont turn on till 160º. Those are very important, so running that cold is a problem, also mpgs will suffer.

A stock 195 is what the car likes. You can go to 180 if you please, but its not needed.

A tune can control things like air/fuel mixture, ignition timing, electric fan operation, trouble code reporting, transmission shift points, speed limiters and many other things.
