The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
You're gonna need more than a few mods to beat a 2013 Mustang GT. If MT's test are right, it runs the quarter in 12.7 (GTP stock is 14 flat on a fantastic day), and 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. They have 420 HP stock and weigh ~3600 pounds. Good luck...
Then I doubt it was a GT. Might have been a V6 with a GT appearance package. That, or they weren't racing you, they were toying with you. Not trying to be a debbie downer, just being realistic.
I could see that on a V6 Camaro on a good day. Stock, that is. With just a few mods (not much) they get a bit quicker, something I doubt you could keep up with in stock form.
Considering the V6 version of the Mustang puts out 305hp/280tq I doubt it was a 5.0. If you saw the 5.0 badges on the fenders then you were up against 420hp/390tq stock. A stock GTP with 240hp (genIII) or the newer ones with the GenV (~260hp) would have a really hard time keeping up with a newer 'stang.
The newer cars are just that more fast/efficient. These cars were never made to be street racers. With the proper mods (i.e.- turbo, E85, etc) you can run them down, but without some serious cash you're just going to be chasing them. Even if the motor was built you'd still need a trans built to hold it.
I'm gonna say yes he is, since in his op he said "with a few mods", not "with a few more mods". What is it they say? Anything can happen on the street...
My Dad's 2012 Mustang GT has a cold air intake, a tune, sport tires, lower suspension, aftermarket exhaust, and completely blacked out (probably other stuff I'm forgetting). Lets just say it will make any Grand Prix cry that tries to race him. It's pushing close or over 500 horsepower.
The 12's were rated at around 412/chp. Throw in the tune and CAI and he probably is around 500 crank HP, not accounting for drivetrain loss. Either way, a stock coyote should walk a stock GTP of any year. The numbers just don't add up as Bio pointed out.
