Well my grand prix obsession all started when i was told that i would be getting my uncles 2000 GTP. He let me drive it when i had my permit to see if i liked it and i fell in love. First day i got my license he let me borrow it for the day. I must of borrowed that car everyday for the whole summer lol. Then i received some bad news.. he had to trade in the car to get a new one. He didnt wanna sell the car to me because it had some problems with it too. I was heartbroken lol.
Heres the car that started it all:

After he sold that i basically had no option but to buy a 1988 honda accord off of my other uncle. PIECE OF ****. My obsession on grand prixs got really bad. I used to watch the 10 minute promotional videos almost every night before i went to bed. It was pretty bad. Anyways lets fast forward to March of 2010
I was browsing on craigslist when i came across a 1997 gtp coupe for 1000 bucks. engine had been replaced because he blew the first one and it had 20k on it. Only problem was that the drivers side was in an accident. So i decided to go up and look at it. I liked it, and ended up buying it.
Here she is the day i bought it:

Nope i still cruise around with a smashed up drivers side.. i dont really care lol.
And thanks about the house my step dad built it

Dude...its a WBody...leave the damage...that's how its done.

I love the fact you got it for a grand...should have asked him how much the expensive Toyota was going for.

yea im slowly saving up to get it fixed.. and my step dad bought that lexus for 40,000 something i think.. brand new its like 80,000 i think.

Well that is a beautiful car but I really wish you would fix the driver side. Though its value may have declined, it means something to you and you don't want to convey to others that you don't give a $h!t about your car.

On the flip side, I know exactly how you feel. My aunt got her white GP GT Coupe when I was idk...11. I was in love with it. Hers is still in mint condition today. Well later on when I was 16 my dad wanted to make up for the past to say the least so he was going to buy me a car. I told him I really wanted a Grand Prix. He lucked up and found me a Green GT Coupe. It needed some work, but I love it and it is a beautiful work in progress. Had to replace the motor but it was well worth it. :)

FIX IT!

I bought my 97 (Red) and it damn near got totaled a year later. The driver side was hit and the drivers door crushed in about 6-8 inches. The hood and front bumper were also smashed up/ frame was bent etc. . I spent the last 4 years putting it back together and modding the hell out of it. Heck I still got some minor fixing to do from the accident, But I love the car so much.

FIX IT. You will be proud of yourself for it. I have other cars, but I refuse to get rid of my GTP

I know what you mean about being obsessed. The first time I ever really noticed a GP was someone in my subdivision driving by when i was walking my dog. Exhaust sounded so good and I just thought...yep..I'm gonna get one of those.... and then I looked into them and it got really bad lol. Anyway nice looking car! And yay torque stars!!! :th_thumbsup-wink:
