My 1984 Grand Prix

My car is a 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix Brougham. I found this car in a barn out in Wisconsin and it say in there for 15 years. Currently it only has a 305 v8 in it but I am working on getting a 350 for it. It has the rally tuned suspension in it. The transmission is a th350 as the original tranny went out shortly after I got it. I have had this car for only 1 year so I don't have a lot done yet but I am working on it.

Cool ride! At least it has an original SBC setup so all the goodies just bolt in. The only advice I can offer is to firm up that rear suspension and resolve any rearend issues (gear ratio, limited slip) before adding gobs of power. They wheel hop like crazy.

Thanks for the advice. I am already planning on getting better gears because the ones in it now are really low, they are like highway cruising gears. Also I need to get new shocks, mine are starting to wear out.

I actually think I still have a LSD with a set of 3.08's on them for a stock 7.5". You can find some G-bodies (Cutlass?) with the F-51 (or was it FE3?) suspension package that has a lot of good parts. I use polygraphite bushings and Global west trailing arms upper and lower. You can also upgrade to 12" disc brakes from a 1LE if you do upper control arms on front. I never had wheel hop issues with my GMC Diabo and I put many many track passes on it, then again it was a 14s bracket car that I drove daily. Sad that my Tbird SC was faster than the V8 but it was virtually stock with a goodwrench motor in it.
