My 08 is turning out to be a LEMON

Well, i was very pleased when I bought my car a few months back, but recently, it just seems I find more and more problems with it. My fuel gage changes by 1/8th of a tank every time I turn it on and off, it dies not change once the car gets moving. I have already had the fuel sensor replaced, but the problem is still happening. When ever I put on my rear defrost, I loose my radio, even the local stations turn to static. On top of this, I have had way too much condensation build up on the inner windows on damp days. I have checked all the windows and door moldings, but nothing is wrong. And to top it all off, I got back out to my car after running into the store today and someone backed into it. I have a 1" split just next to the "C" in Pontiac on the rear bumper.:th_shakinghead2:

That sucks. Have you tried talking to the dealer about it. You should be able to get a different one, if yours keeps having problems.

I'm going to have to wait till after the holidays to take it in. Hopefully they can sort it out, if not the I will demand a new one. The only downside to it, is the color on my current one is hard to find, and I really don't want the normal white, red or blue.

Yeah, I see what you mean on the color. Try to make them find another one in that color maybe. Sucks that you have been having so many problems my car has been very reliable.

I almost wonder if that car had been in a wreck.... which is why you are having these elctrical problems, and thick condensation on the insode of the windows....

thats what i was thinking too..... but i never heard of a dealership that sells that new of cars that wouldn't say anything about a bad history on the car.

Carfax does not cover what currently happened to the car, it takes a while for it to hit.

I bought a car with LOW miles on it, with a clear carfax report. a few months later did struts on it and found 1 strut to be new, non OEM. I looked at a new carfax report. it had ben hit in the RR. it took 3 months for it to show up.

I would check the carfax on it! Dealerships are sneaky!

If the car was in an accident and it doesnt show on the carfax or autocheck, they will cover the cost of replacement.im pretty sure that they have that written in fine print. Check it out first.O and sadly some dealerships are sneaky. Good luck man

I never thought of that and will look into it. The only catch is that there is a law in place in my province that requires anyone selling a car to disclose any accidents resulting in $2000 worth of damage. I have also taken a close look at the car and have not noticed any orange peel paint or over spray.

I will get a hold of the dealer and let you guys know what I find out.

In Canada..you do not have "lemon law" like we do here in the states. You can take the MFG to court.

The rear defroster and the static go hand in hand I think, My 07 does the same thing, I think its the electrical current that interferes with the reception since the antenna is in the rear window.

The interior condensation is coming from the carpet, you bring water and snow in with you when you get in the vehicle, the heater melts and evaporates the moisture and it has no where to go but up, the only things that are up that it wont absorb into is the glass. RAIN-X Anti-fog helps but doesnt solve the problem.

As for the fuel gauge, take it in.

Thanks for the info, it is good to know I'm not the only one having these troubles. As for the condensation, I have been very careful not to track in any snow (as rare as it maybe where I live), but it is not the normal layer of condensation, it gets to the point where it is actually beads of water running down the inside of the windshield. I have made an appointment for two weeks down the road. Hopefully the dealer can tell something I have yet to try.

I track snow in my car, and have wet carpets... I dont have any problems with condensation on the inside of my car.....

my 2001 has the antena on the back window... perfect reception all the time. I wonder if it has anything to do with the newer model years....

check your reports!!!

I think its with the newer years, I got a pontiac whore for a neighbor, has a 91 a 01 and a new 08, his 08 has the static and condensation much like mine and this guys.

I knock my boots together to get off the snow but the residual stuff builds up.

You might have a seal leak, see what the dealer says and go from there, Keep us posted on the results.

oddly enough, i get the rear defrost/radio issue on my 99 GT... or the Woofers will lose ALOT of their bass... also, i got the same issue with my fuel sensor as well... or if i pull off, even slowly, fuel dips down... went all the way to "E" once, scared da bajesus outta me till i tried to fill-er-up... hmm makes me wonder....
