I have an 04 grand prix gt, starting the car is fine if it sits overnight, but take it for a drive , warm it up and try starting it , it fires but stalls out unless you touch the gas?... now I cant figure it out, new plugs wires fuel filter, had injectors cleaned still nothing, anyone having or have had the same problems?
 


Yup 04+ throttle bodies seem to be worse for getting dirty quickly, my 06 was the same way when I picked it up. Filthy throttle body that also needed pedal input to get the car to start. a good cleaning will take care of that.
 
Ok thank yous, ive also replaced the throttle positioning sensor, but I will definitely be cleaning the tb today when the sun comes out and see how she like that!
 
Well as yous said the tb was black and just coated with ****. Some intake cleaner and the brass bristles in the rotary 10 minutes cleaned up nice and starts and runs so much nicer, thanks again.
 


What are people doing as a preventive fix for this? Anyone blocking off the EGR and or removing it? Si this possible with these cars? Used to do this on the old neons we had and they ran fine (but I don't think they would pass for emissions).

its best to just clean your tb every year or so, you can remove it, but you need a tuner to tune the code out, and to disable the egr so you can pass inspection.
