When I try to open it, the noise it makes is nasty. Anyone know if replacement parts are available? Really don't wanna spend a grand on a new complete roof.

Mine also has issues. When I close it it sounds like gears grinding. I was told the drive assembly is bad/going bad. It has me scared to use it for fear of it not closeing again. IF I open it and the gears are too stripped to close it, is there any way to close it by hand? Like can I turn the gears by hand?
 
Grease everything.

That happened to me, ended up spending 40 bucks at the junkyard for a new sunroof. Haven't had a bit of issue. Don't be afraid.
