Monroe struts on Grand Prix gxp

I need to replace my rear struts and I'm looking into using the Monroe ones. I found a couple postings on forums that people have used the Monroe's instead of the blistens and have been happy with them. The thing is that I've looked on autozone and advance and all of the listings show that they cannot be used with 18" wheels. Has anybody used these recently?

They're so expensive... I know there is nothing like oem, but if there isn't much to lose why not?

Wheel size has nothing to do with what struts you use. You will be fine using the stock 18s.

Im not sure why when you go on autozone or advance it says that what they have doesn't work with 17 or 18" wheels. Cheapest I found the bilsteins is $260 each

Watch out so that the spring seat does not interfere with the rim/tire combo.

I would stick with the bilsteins. The monroes don't even come close to the ride quality of a bilstein strut. If you really don't want to spend the money on the bilsteins then I would at least consider the KYB Excel G's for an 06+ impala/monte carlo with the FE4 suspension.
