• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

i was just woundering what are some mods i can do to my 98 gtp? i just purchased it and believe its pretty stock other than intake and i believe it has a chip bc it revs to 5g's in park i herd stock it wont go past 4g's. where can i find the chip the only one ive ever know of is like the hand held device? also what do u guys have for mods and what power increases do they give u? and what is a WOT?

go to the general tech section and find the "safely modding your 3800 car"

read that thread, and then re-read it.

And there are not "chips" for these car, we have PCM's, so the whole computer has to be changed.

but first read about modding, then do it.

that tread helped me alot and you have to learn what your car likes in the process. Just cuz so and so can run this knock free dont mean you can.

First mod that must be done is a way to scan for KR. The interceptor guage is one of my favorites cuz you can look at so many things the car is doing as you drive. The guage is pricey but when you get it and start modding it will save your motor if you have knock and let off at the right times.

Why are you revving to 5000 RPM in park?

My buddy could free rev his '99 GTP...no idea what tune was ever in it...but it was the only GTP I ever knew of that could just rev it to 6K whenever he wanted.

Drilled and slotted actually effect stopping none. Upgrading brake pad size... more surface area w/ applied pressure = better stopping.
