Modding advice

I need some advice, i've slowly over the last 2 months been modding my car but i'm unsure in which order i should finish my mods. I would like to drop my pulley to a 3.5. I know i need colder plugs and wires, especially since i still have the original plugs and wires on it from 2001. Also i plan on getting a overkill pcm. the problem is that i don't have scanner nor do i know a person who could scan it for me. I don't want to order the pulley and pcm tuned for the 3.5 in fear that its going to knock. i'm assuming that i should put them both on at the same time. would it be ok to do the wires and colder plugs earlier or should everything be done at once?

I have a 2001 gtp with 68k on it
As far as what i've done so far
CAI, 3"dp/hi-flow cat/ u-bend delete, zzp ceramic coated plog and crossover, 180*t-stat

what do you guys think?, Thanks in advance

get an aeroforce gauge to scan for knock, before getting that 3.5 on there. You should be fine but, now is the time to get that gauge.

I was thinking about getting one for the reason that i don't know anyone that can scan for me. the aerofore gauge pretty much eliminates the need for another gauge and being they don't sell single gauge pods for the a-pillar, i guess i'd have to get one with 2 pods and just pick another gauge to fill the spot.

get a aem W/B to go with your scan gauge :th_winking:. Imo those are the most important.

in all seriousness, knock is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. 3* of KR on a 3.4 pulley is not that bad, but it is not ideal. everyone is just looking out for your and your motor's best interested in keeping the knock low.

your best option is to throw as many mods at you can at your engine before dropping pullies until you can scan. widebands are almost necessary past a basic 3.4 setup because of tuning purposes. you wont blow your car up on a 3.4, but you will on a 3.2 or lower without much effort. find a way to scan and tune before you get to this point.

You can pick up single gauge pods at Slow Rielly's or Advance Retard Auto.

In the RICER section...not sure on a fit I was gonna buy one but they only come in black and it didn't match my interior.:th_sick1:

If not you can pick up a boost gauge too...keep the aeroforce on KR and something else important like tranny temp/volts/oil press./etc.

And then there is your 2 pod pillar specifically made for your GP:th_biggrin2:

GMPUNK, If your interested in an auto-meter trans-temp gauge to go with that aeroforce pm me.

GMPUNK, there is alot of guys in ct with gp's that would be able to help you out. a bunch of them are on nepontiacenthusiast forum. there is a big meet in june, you can find out more about it in the events sec on the forum! i hope that helps you get a scan!
