Mkyota1's 1999 gtx

I've been here a while and never posted up my ride. I sort of wish I would have made a build thread earlier to kind of show the progress as it happened. Oh well LOL. I bought the car from the Tampa area. Started reading up on making it a little quicker and took care of all of the maintenance stuff. The car was really clean for a 12+ year old grand prix with 112,000 miles. It came with a pretty nice system with two alpine type r subs, remote start, and some pretty new rims and tires. Not sure if it is a real gtx or not but it has all the stuff that matters, like hood, airbox, and slp catback. Not slp sticker but who cares. The black paint was ok other than the hood. The clear was in rough shape. This was taken the day I bought it. evocard236.jpg

After much reading I placed my first parts order of speed daddy headers and aeroforce scan gauge. Followed shortly with a set of zzp 1.9 modified rockers , 3.6 pulley, and an overkill pcm. After installing all of that I was still seeing a little KR even on the 3.6. This was when I realized I would have to work a little harder than some people to be able to run a smaller pulley. As time went by I ended up picking up a zzp s2 intercooler. This was what opened the door for me to start making a little more power. Then in search for more power I went with a vs cam, then gen v with all the goodies that go along with that.

Needs Gen 1 spoiler lol. But the GTX hood is my all time favorite hood for these cars. I want to buy one so bad.

As it sits now my mod list: ZZP s2 intercooler
VS cam with l76 springs and retainers
Gen V with northstar, LQ4, some paint and polish
SLP air intake minus lid right now until I trim to fit
Speed daddy headers, glass pack, SLP catback
42# injectors
3.0 pulley at 16# right now with about a 11.2-11.5 afr. Still needs a little work.
ZZP modded fuel rail
AL103s
180* stat

I spent a little time making the blower look better. Too lazy to do the whole thing.

I was lucky enough to find a Bonneville GXP at the local junk yard so I grabbed the front calipers, brackets, and lines off it. With some new rotors and pads in into the whole setup for around $170.

The finish on my rims didn't hold up the best. My tires were about done too. The clear in the center caps was peeling badly and started to look pretty crappy so the search was on for a new set of wheels. Last week I came across a set of 18x8's off of a 2013 mustang GT. They are literally like brand new. Not a single scratch. They came with Pirelli 235/50-18's with pretty good tread. For $400 I couldn't pass them up. I have never seen them on a grand prix before. I really like them. Let me know what you think. I still need to modify the caps to get rid of the pony. Better pics later.

I am really looking forward to some cool weather so I can get some decent times at the track. So far my personal best is a 13.42 @ 103 with a low 2.0 sixty on street tires. Im now trapping around 105 with around the same ET but have not had a very good night for a good run. It has been stupid hot and humid. With a little weight reduction and some drag radials I am hoping for that 12.99 this winter.

I have done a little work since then. Lol. P.S. Love your regal. That thing is bad ass.

I can see that! 12.99 would be MUCH quicker than I saw you run. Very nice.
I like your cam/spring choice. The L76 spring is a nice/mild spring for the VS cam.
Some will argue that it's not rated for the lift... but it is. :th_king-normal:

Keep up the good work.
