hey there everyone. i noticed my comp g has a slight buck or hesitation at idle. in park or neutral i revved it up hard to see what it would do and it loses power at aboUt 3800 to 4k rpms, almost like it loses gas. is that some sort of rev limiter or do i have a miss? the check engine light recently came on but that may be due to the gas cap always throwing the "check gas cap" message.

when i hit it from the line or on the highway it seems to be okay........thanks

You need to find out what exactly the CEL is on for. It could be a missfire code. Do not assume gas cap...

Have you been using cheap gas lately? How new are your spark plugs? Cheap gas killed my PT Cruiser Turbo plugs at 20,000 miles. Developed a miss, got worse, so I removed the plugs only to find them coated with some kind of orange crap. Replaced and stopped using the cheap gas and it was fine.

Alao, if you rev it up in park, you will eventually hit the rev limiter. It will hit it and then bounced off and on as long as you keep your foot on the pedal. Thus the term bouncing off the rev limiter.

yea bad gas and or bad plugs or bad gaping on the plugs.

a small gap on my plugs gives it a ruff idle, bad gas will do it also, and old worn out spark plugs will do it.

ok so it is probably the plugs because I put one temp colder in when i put the msd coil packs and prj wires on. the reasoning was i was gonna mod it right after, and sure enough i got sidetracked. it has been running fine with those plugs (a little worse gas mpg probably because of the richness.)

thx again for the responses....i will prob just put stock plugs back in this weekend and upgrade when my package from intense is ordered....

BTW, i am ordering the package that states approx 75whp or 94bhp increases:

INT-FWI-xxx - INTENSE™ Fenderwell Intake Kit
IMH-320 - INTENSE™ Modular Pulley System with 3.20" Pulley - L67 equipped vehicles ONLY
IMH-340 - INTENSE™ Modular Pulley System with 3.40" Pulley - L32 equipped vehicles ONLY
GB6-660 - Goodyear Gatorback Supercharger Belt
STP-635 - Supercharger Tensioner Pulley
TST-180 - INTENSE™ High Performance 180 Degree Thermostat
ASP-103 x 6 - Autolite® 103(three heat ranges colder than stock) Copper Core Spark Plugs
3800-YTRR-XXX - Yella Terra 1.90:1 Roller Rocker & Pushrod Package for L67/L32
GVS-LS6 - LS6 Medium Load Valvesprings
SHK-30070 - SLP™ Ceramic Coated Headers
SIK-30071 - SLP™ Header Installation Kit
SHC-30073 - SLP™ High Flow Catalyst & Rear O2 Simulator
PCM-xxxxx-xxxx - INTENSE™ Standard Powertrain Control Module

if i add a full size IC from ZZP, do you think that would increase that number to about 105whp?

Every 3800 I've ever ridden had a slight "miss" feeling at idle. In fact, just about every GM V6 I've ever had experience with had that. GM says it's normal, and it probably is since they all do it.

The Impala did it from the day I bought it to the day I sold it. And I tore it down to the short block and rebuilt. Never changed.
