Meziere pump + 4" shorter belt??

I don't see how that the 4" shorter belt even fits. I couldn't even get the belt over the socket to get the handle on the tensioner. I went and bought a belt that was an inch shorter (3" shorter than stock) and I barely got it slipped on. Car is a 04 comP g. (Series III ) Im not going to start until I research some more, but any one else use anything other than the recommended 4" shorter belt? What kind of trouble am I looking at? There definitely ain't no slack in the belt. Seems super tight to me
 


Soooo.....anywho...I realized the other night that the alternator relocation bracket sits the alternator 1" higher therefore a 3" shorter belt instead of the 4" shorter belt everyone suggests. FYI for anyone with a ssic and Meziere water pump on a s3 3800 v6
