MechMan Alternators

Has anyone ever had a alternator from MechMan? I know they're one of the best alternator vendors out there.

Im looking at a 240amp alt direct fit for my Regal GS from them, any chance this will live up to an GM OE alternator life longevity?

One of my good friends owns a car audio shop around the corner from where I live, he swears by Mechman alternators and Kinetik batteries. I've seen a few of the ones that he installed, they are very nice looking when powdercoated and always put out more power than they're rated for.

I've read and heard before that HO alternators don't have the same life expectancy as an OE unit. I couldn't tell you why.. maybe shorter component life due to the stress from high output? Someone else may chime in and refute this, can't say if its fact or not... nor do I know anyone who actually has a HO alt installed.

I agree, but i not sure either. Thats y i went with Mechman cause i they're top quality so if anyone can it would be Mechman with the closest life longevity to an OE unit

What makes you want/need a 240 amp alternator? Have you considered the CS140 alternator

Yeah ive looked at that CS140 and the AD144. I'll probaly get the AD144 but this needs a bracket to fit no big deal. The MechMan just cost more but its an direct fit.

But im running a few electrical components, pretty good stereo system, soon to be Full IC(electrical pump of course), etc.

Better to have more electrical power than not enough, plus the electrical system will only utilize what it needs so you won't overload the electrical system regardless of how many amps your alternator is
