Mechanic Shop BS or Not? Does a replacement of ig switch means also replacing LOM

I know for sure that I need an ignition switch. The symptoms include info center going blank or turning off when I turn the heat on, headlights blinking, heat working when it wants too. A gargage told me that I have to also replace the lock module because of the antithief and get a reprogram at the dealer. Is it necessary for all of this extra work, just to change the ignition switch? email me at [email protected] thanks
 


depends on the year of the car, but i've never heard of a lock module. you have to reprogram the anti-theft on the later cars though, yes. probably for some of the 97-03 cars.
