Maximum Torque / HP Stock LS4

Did a search and couldn't find anything so I figured I'd ask. What is the most people have gotten with nothing more than a tune? With all the ultra conservative factory tune and all the nannies placed by GM I can't image 305/323 being all that close to peak, given how limited they made for the glass transmission.

What is the factory at the wheel? I posted crank numbers before.

Factory does not rate hp at the wheel, so you'll have to rely on whoever has ran a stock one at the dyno.

Do a rough calculation of 20% drivetrain loss and you'll have your "average" number.

So figure 303 crank is around 243hp to the tire. If you can tune and use 93 octane pump gas it's possible to pick up another 15-20hp if you are lucky.

That's kind of why I said 260-270 max, though that's likely with ideal conditions.

I don't plan on doing anything to the car for a while now. Getting a tranny rebuild this week, and until the car is out of warranty keeping it mostly stock.

It just seems weird to me how low the potential is without heavy modding. I know they baby the motor due to the horrid trans, as it is, I catch people sleeping on the "grandpa" mobile. Non car guys in v6 chargers who don't know what the three letters on the side are for.

Let me guess, you beat Chevy Sparks and Ford Fiestas too? :th_sign-putz:

Lol. Don't really beat anyone to be honest, not a fan of really racing on the street/highway. More just like to show people who roll 3' past the stop line in a hurry that they aren't all that fast.

Im sure those soccer moms trying to get their kids to practice are going to be REALLY impressed that you took off from a stop light.

They'll usually make 250-260 WHP stock...about the same WTQ, maybe a little more.

Mine made 295/295 to the tire with an intake, 3" downpipe/3" exhaust, built trans, E85, and tuning.
