'Mark Forums Read' doesn't work

This hasn't worked for some time. Any reason why? Can it be fixed?

In very small blue text on the main index page at the bottom just before you get to the "What's going on?" stuff.

I didn't send an email because it has been brought up multiple times in the past. Didn't know if someone was working on it. Or if it was forgotten. Or just that no one has taken the time to do anything.
