MAP sensor

I was changing my PVC valve on my 2008 GP and the MAP sensor came apart while unhooking the PVC holder clip. It kind of snapped together but not really. I'm guessing they are not to come apart.

I put it back together and the clip holds it in and it idled fine. But thinking I should order a replacement. Thoughts? Epoxy the old one together?

No. The actual rectangular plastic piece with the orange rubber piece that fits in that plastic holder separated from the larger part of the MAP sensor where the wires plug in and has the tabs that the snap into the plastics holder. It did lot look like it should have came apart. Almost like heat or age rotted plastic but was a very clean break then and kind of fit back together. We will see how it drives this am. I ordered a new one in case it is bad.

Still drove fine. Just doesn't seem like it should come apart.

that's not good. it should be easy to find a 1 bar map sensor. I think any map sensor from a non supercharged 99+ will work. I have an extra one if you want to pay 5 dollars plus whatever shipping ends up being.

I got one ordered cheap and free shipping. But thanks for the offer. If it measures pressure wonder why it works with 4 big cracks in it.

good deal. my neighbor has a 2001 GTP, and the MAF sensor was failing, after we changed it, we looked at his failing sensor, and it did the same exact thing as your map sensor.

careful about cheap GM sensors that aren't AC Delco or a high end equivalent. I ordered a budget MAP sensor and started having EGR codes pop up regularly afterwards. It wasn't the EGR or EGR pipe which was bad, it was a crappy MAP sensor throwing off everything else. From experience, budget GM sensors are best to be avoided. I learned the hard way with budget crank sensor (stranded me on the highway) and ignition control modules (resulted in a melted ignition coil). Spend the money now to avoid the headache later. my 2 cents.

I got an AC Delco off amazon prime for like 40 bucks. Not super cheap but cheaper than rock auto. And arrives tomorrow. 😉

It's hard to beat that free 2 day shipping if you have a prime account. Rock auto is only better because you can find stuff easier and they have more products, and sometimes the price is better

Yes I love rock auto. Usually start there and then put part number into eBay / Amazon and if I need it quick use my daughters collage prime account. Rock autos prices are thought to beat but their shipping throws them out of the game every once in a while.
