MAF Sensor problem?

Hey all, i'm new here. I got an engine code the other day reading P0102. I know this is the MAF sensor so i changed it twice now and the light still won't go away. I cleared the code and hours later it comes back. Any ideas as to what i can do to fix this?

check the wires to the plug for the maf. unplug it, then bend the wires back at the plug, look for cracks in the insulation. if you see the wire, the pig tail is bad. you can buy a new one on line for like 10 bucks. parts store sometimes carry them.

theres a fuse for the maf also, so check your fuse boxes, in car, and under the hood.

Take the intake air boot off of the throttle body and make sure there isnt crap on the screen. Usually happens if the bottom of the air filtet box is loose or the boot is loose and falling off the box. Also if you are going with a reman sensor i have seen many that are crap right out the box

Thanks for all the input guys, as its cold as all hell here in Canada, i'm gonna have to wait till it warms up to look into it. I noticed the other morning that it went out and it did it again this morning, but when the car heats up it comes back on, i ran the code just to be sure and it still says the MAF? It seems to go out when it's cold and come back when it warms up, i don't know if that'll help any.

the car runs in closed loop till its warmed up, the pcm is running the car on pre set settings, once warm the pcm and sensors take over.

check them wires, it take less then a minute to look at them.

Hey Scotty, I checked the wires this morning and they seem to be fine, I can't see any splits or wires so now I'm really confused

I replaced it with one from a junkyard here, double checked to make sure it was in good condition and everything was still intact inside. I cleaned both the replacement and original sensor with sensor cleaner thoroughly but i haven't checked the fuses yet. It's weird because with the old sensor in it would have the typical MAF sensor issue's but since i put this replacement one in it hasn't done it...
